XV Agrarian Sciences Week in Portugal

12 May 2014: AGFORWARD researcher João Palma presented a talk on “Modern Agroforestry, Vision, Opportunities and Challenges” at the XV Agrarian Sciences Week at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança in Northern Portugal.  This was organised as part of the FAO International Year of Family Farming.  The presentation (in Portuguese) describes the history of agroforestry in Portugal, its current status in Portugal and Europe, and some results from the Silvoarable Agroforestry for Europe (SAFE) project (2001-2005).  The presentation also described the AGFORWARD project (2014-2017) and the work of the European Agroforestry Federation (EURAF).  Lastly it examined the current status of Portuguese and European agroforestry policy, and future opportunities and challenges for agroforestry in Europe.  The presentation can be freely accessed HERE

 

12 Maio 2014: João Palma, investigador no projecto AGFORWARD, fez uma apresentação sobre “Agroflorestas Modernas, Visão, Oportunidades e Desafios” na XV Semana das Ciências Agrárias no Instituto Politécnico de Bragança. Este evento foi organizado no âmbito do Ano Internacional da Agricultura Familiar sugerido pela FAO. A apresentação (em Português) descreve uma breve história da agrofloresta em Portugal, o estado da arte em Portugal e Europa, e alguns resultados do projecto Europeu “Silvoarable Agroforestry for Europe” SAFE (2001-2005). A apresentação descreve também o projecto AGFORWARD (2014-2017) e o trabalho da Federação Europeia de Agroflorestas (EURAF). Por último, examina também as legislação actual Portuguesa e Europeia, assim como futuras oportunidades e desafios dos sitemas agroflorestais em Portugal e na Europa.
